My doctor put it to me like this when I asked about smoking. He said, "I would like to tell you to quit smoking for many other reasons, but there are no hard facts that smoking causes cluster headaches." He is of the opinion that alcohol can be a trigger.
While on the subject of doctors, I feel very lucky to have found mine. He is the chair of the nuerology dept for a major university and he has done a lot for me. We have a good relationship because he has done research on CH and has been published. All of my local doctors know him and send thier problem headache people to those who have been trained by him so they can have access to them.
