Your love for your mother is obvious but, as a mother myself, I'm not sure you're doing the right thing, hun. By you leaving, won't this cause your Mom to worry about you, therefore increasing her stress, and THEREFORE increasing her pain? My husband is a sufferer too and I do give him his space when he is under attack too. But for us, that means that I leave him in the room he is in, alone. I stay within earshot at all times - I turn down the tv and I just sit. I wait. I listen. I'm there. I think that's what is meant by giving space. I know your heart is in the right place but you know your mom loves you - we can all see how much she does - and she needs you all sooooo much right now. If you haven't left yet, please rethink this. Please email me directly if you want. I KNOW and UNDERSTAND how helpless you feel. I've never felt your mom's pain but, darlin, I've sure felt YOURS.
