I have been taking Atenolol for almost a year in an effort to cut down on migraines (it has helped). I started with 50 mg but went up to 100 awhile back. I still got a cluster cycle but I got fewer CHs and my cycle seemed to be cut short, too. Now, it did not seem to affect the intensity although when I use oxygen I don't usually have to go allthe way into a full blown headache. I am lucky in that I usually wake up at the first ping of pain and dash off to the oxygen immediately. But even 15 minutes of a Cluster is unbearable so I am glad that my cycle broke up early.
I didn't think that the Atenolol was having any affect but maybe it does.
My motto is use whatever works as long as it does no harm.
My old methods of head banging would not fall into the above category...
