02 does that to me at times also, but it has and remains the most reliable abortive for me.
Cafergote used to work for me, and I used to take it before bedtime to alleviate the wake up calls.
Lithium was succesfull for me in breaking a cycle the doctors said was my "Going chronic".
I have had some success taking Migranol before bedtime, but that gets expensive quick.
As far as the anxiety, I am surprised you feel it after the Stadol. I do not feel anything for at least 48 hours after reverting to that med for relief. Really cleans my clock that one.
I think the biggest key for me is not to "let the fear free", if it gets out, nothing in the world helps the anxiety.
Remain calm, remember the mantra "it will pass-it always does".
