Finally, i have found a good doctor. All I can guess
is that he deals with other cluster headaches
patients or he is very knowledgeable as to them.
With out even blinking an eye he wrote me out a
ten day burst of predisone, my verapmil, and
50mg. imtrix pills.
I went through the first 10 day burst and
as i started to taper off the CH monster returned,
My imetrix pills were helping but they take so damn
long and with me being a house mom with a 15 month
old it was killing me. Sunday morning after 3 monsters
hitting me I called the office and begged for help.
Explaining to the doc that I need more predisone and
something to releave the pain sooner. he suggested the
shot but, my lovely insurance has to have a special request
from the doc and it goes under review(takes about a week).
So, he suggested the nasal spray. I ran to the pharmacy
as soon as they opened. To my surprise the nasal spray
was covered. Yesturday I had another CH and the nasal
spray worked wonderful.Except the nastty taste it left
in the back of my throat(rather that than the pain).
Hopefully this run of predisone and the verapmil
will break the cycle.
Finally, I have finally found a Doc. to listen to me!!!
