observations:
(1) there should be no censorship, if at all
avoidable.
(2) anyone can use a false name, so that would
still be 'anony' only spelled differently.
(3) anyone can use a false e-mail adress on this
form of bbs.
(4) people do have reasons to not want their
e-mail address know; some folks do not have
any e-mail period.
(5) if this particular 'anony' is actually a
CH sufferer, then this bbs is the only place
for them to interact with those in kind. Why
this person would knowingly put themselves
in a villain's role is beyond me for they are
cutting themselves off.
possible solutions:
(A) the only reasonable way to prevent such
contrary postings, intented to inflame rather
than to participate, is to use a different
type of bbs format: require registration by
participants who can only sign up by providing
valid name and e-mail address; if a person has
no e-mail address, then provide some valid
personal info. Entering the bbs would then
require a participant to enter a name and
password. This way, everyone on the bbs *is*
know by those who run the bbs. This is really
the only way. Personally, I don't think we
need that. I like this bbs style and it's
very rare that we run across this type of
undesirable situation.
(B) I really urge 'anony' to come forward,
apologize, and participant in a non-confontational
manner. If you are in fact a CH sufferer, don't
blow your opportunity to be here with folks who
can relate to what you are going through. If you
are not a CH sufferer or the sigO of one or the
friend of ond, it's hard to imagine why you are
on this bbs, but if you remain, and remain
confrontational, you will at the least be ignored.
