Thank you for using your name. I respect that.
I have to disagree with the part of your note saying that you would have been attacked even worse had you used your name. I believe that to be the point, actually. In the world of written words it is sometimes very difficult to convey a thought or idea to others. It is easy to be misunderstood. When one uses the alias, “anony”, “anonymous”, or even a false name like “Casey”, that person sometimes becomes “suspect”. What I mean by "suspect" is: (does that person have clusters? – are they being honest? – sincere?…etc.)
I know for me, when I see a person’s name attached to an E-mail address, I have no suspicions. I give that person the “benefit of the doubt” that they are being honest. I also like when I read a post that sounds sincere or angry or even funny from a person using their name. (I adore humor). (YA HOO!)
Look at me for instance. Believe it or not my name is not “drummer”. My name is Dave. (It’s at the first part of my E-mail address). (Drumming is just something I really enjoy doing). I hope that the reason that I have not been “beat up” for using a false name is because people can see that my remarks and words are sincere. Granted, due to my personality and the Demon in my head, sometimes my posts are laced with a little sarcasm. (YA HOO!). See there! Damn it Demon; Stop it!
Anyway, If I was to give Carl D a place to live. Would that really help him? According to my wife it is better that he help himself. Sure, I’ll be here for support and encouragement, but no, I will not offer him my home.
I believe that was your original question. I will now direct that same question back to you. Will you offer Carl D a place to live?
