i understand some of what you see. those with sigO's like drummer's wife and Margi are quite lucky. those with husbands like BarbD's and LindaB's and wives like DJ aren't. maybe guys like us (without life compadres) are between the bliss of support and the heartache of betrayal. not the best, but not the worst. i wince for you with your living arrangements being so fupped duck ... *knock on wood* i've not had that happen to me yet - but consider how much worse it'd be if you hadda support a lady and/or kids now, too. it may be a blessing in disguise (HEAVILY disguised!) that you're alone right now.
your aspirations are not dead. they're delayed. i can't tell ya how many of my (computer industry) colleagues have gotten riffed in the current greed wars only to find themselves making more money as consultants that they ever would have working for a structure ... and they're soooo much happier. the old "darkest before the dawn" offerring. someone a few days back said, "the strongest souls emerge from suffering". truer words were never spoken. you, dude, will have a soul of steel after you come thru this - after you're OVER it (believe you will ... you are what you believe). when you can't believe it anymore - get on here again so we can remind you.
some day ... you'll look back on this as the seed from which your inspiration sprang ... the torture becomes your fortress. you will produce beauty in music, poetry, and prose that proceeds from today's seeming insurmountable hurdles. there's so much feeling for you here that it's almost palpable. i can touch it. can you?
and remember - you are human - all humans deserve pain freedom. it's a human right!
we are a chain - as strong as our weakest link. let us hold you up now ... later you'll be our crutch.
