Kim,
Wish I could tell you that next Thursday you'll be HA free, but no can do. I was chronic for two years (2-5 a day) except for a couple of weeks when I was bombed on meds. It ain't easy, but like lc bob says "What don't kill you will make you stronger!"
I DO know how you feel. Until I had my surgery I had NO life. Am just now getting it back a little. Still wake up in the night expecting the demon to be with me. It's hard to adjust to being almost normal.
The O2 and coffee helped me if I could get to it before the HA got over a 3-5, but after that it was Cafegot or Imitrex.
The most comfort I can give you is to keep trying to find something that works for you. There are a lot of good suggestions on this board. Take them to your doc and DISCUSS it with him.
I'll keep you in my prayers.
Hugs BD
