I posted a note similar to this once. In fact, the title was "In A Dark Place". I, too, am a chronic, and had just about given up hope. I have never been on oxycontin, because my doctor does not prescribe any narcotics. My neuro made the difference. He fought with me, trying every concievable remedy other than narcotics. Finally he gave me a drug called Trileptal. He told me that very few people had any success with it. But it worked for me! It moved me from chronic back to episodic. I actually have some pain-free days now. My point is, everyone does not respond to the same medication. Find a neuro who sincerely desires to help you, if you can. Endure the trials and failures, until the right combination is found. If I would have given up before Trileptal (plus Verapimil), I would have missed out on a tremendous amout of life. If you have a doctor who gives you one medication and sticks with it, you may never find relief. Keep us posted...Mike Stuart
