Well since all this virus stuff has been happening I have updated 2 times daily my antivirus software...I did the 00000 thing with the e-mail addresses (hotmail and my stepmom's account)... Did all the "runs" of stuff that was posted, to see if you have a virus etc...and NOTHING... Since about 3 weeks ago I started getting stuff from Charles Strand...and I didn't open the attachments etc..just deleted and finally deleted that address (blocked sender) etc all together from my hotmail account.... NOW below I seen this post Regarding Hackers beware...well when you click the address of the poster it comes up as my stepmom's new e-mail address (on the from line).... I don't understand...WE DON"T USE THAT ACCOUNT...I just switched to that address due to qwest and msn migrating and had to be done by January ? something...well I switched her address to msn on 11-24-01....today while loading the disk sent by MSN to get activated (? or something) I had a hacker attempt the information was date:12-2-01 time:1:38:13pm attempts: one. From: 131.220.59.84..
What do I do to make sure I am NOT infected?? Why is this person using my stepmom's e-mail address and sending it to others??? ETC???? I don't know what else to do so any suggestions would be helpful...All I know I AM NOT HACKING ANYONE!!! and if I have to I will stop e-mailing everybody all together, which I really don't want to do as they are my line of communication to the outside world... Again I ONLY USE HOTMAIL ACCOUNTS!!!
