I'm 47, I first suffered from C/H at about fifteen, although they weren't diagnosed as that until about fifteen years ago. I'm now prescribed Sumatripan, Tablets and Nasal Spray, although, medicines being free in England the doctor only prescribes me two nasals a week because of the cost. So I keep the nasal sprays for emergencies..that is getting caught with an attack whilst outside. That leaves me with 24-50mg tablets to keep me a fortnight, and I often have to spit them in two, and even this isn't enough sometimes ..After so many years of suffering there's a thing or two I do that seems to help. If I'm early enough to detect the onset of an attack, I kneel down beside the bathroom sink, and turn the hot water on..Dabbing my eye, the side of my face and left side of my head with a hot water cloth, as hot as I can bear it, often kills the attack off. And even when the attack goes on, it seems to give me some relief till my tablets kick in..Mind you, after all these years, I seem to have killed off the nerve endings in my skin, because even my wife cannot put her hand into the temperature of water that I use. However, it's done no damage to my fine looks (sorry)..and it's really helped my suffering.. Tablets..well..I always scrunch them up to fine powder between my teeth before swallowing..(tastes awful) but they seem to work three times as fast that way. As I'm new to these notice boards, maybe someone else has covered these ways of easing a miserable life. If not, try them. It works for me!..Gregg
