Seriously though, In my other work with childrens rights, although a electric company says and often will cut power to a home for unpaid bills, this is still not legal. And there are ways to keep your power on.
Of course, you must have a reason for not paying the bills, in this case it appears to be for health reasons. This puts the children's rights ahead of the Electric companies.
I've fought this battle a few times before and won for families in similair cases. I do get a little more attention during phone calls and letters because I've been a contributer for the Energy Assistance Fund for years.
I'll get in contact with James and see what we can do. I don't mind going up against the "big boys" when children have to suffer because of something that is out of their hands.
