I used to be able to quit drinking when a cluster hit. When I thought it may be ending, I would use alcohol as the test. Drink a beer, 15 minutes later no headache, cluster was over. If I did get a headache I would wait a few more days and try again.
I once tried to drink a headche into submission. Bot, ws that a mistake! I figured that if I pounded down enough booze fast enough, I would be too numb to feel the headche. NOT! I was then just a drunk with a cluster.
BTW - hub is just manipulating you with his dare. He's good at manipulating things, which is why he has hairy palms and can't see.
