Lots of people suffer from allergies (I've read somewhere they are on advance since infants are bathed too often). So it is to be expected that many clusterheads suffer from allergies of all kinds too. But I don't think there is any general connection between CH and allergies, although for a few there may be one.

Another thing are triggers: For most alcohol is a major trigger. MSG (Mono Sodium Glutamate, an ubiquitous nerve poison and so called "taste enhancer") is a potent trigger for quite a few. But that has nothing to do with allergies, out of cycle they do no harm.

IMHO, "purifying the blood" is just a sales pitch of all the health food and nutritional supplement dealers. What breathing oxygen does is quite simple: The brain regulates very closely the amount of oxygen it receives. If the blood is saturated with oxygen the vessels are narrowed, and thus breaking the feedback loop that involves expanding vessels in CH attack. BTW, Imitrex achieves the same by acting directly on the muscles that constrict the vessels.
