There aren't words to express what we go through when we lose a pet. They are our children. We lost our rottie, Chelsea, to lupus almost six years ago and I still miss her. The best thing we did, however, was to go out right away and get a puppy. Barly came to live with us the day after Chelsea died and he was a great comfort through our grief. We could never replace Chelsea, but Barly is our next child now. You may not feel you're ready yet, and that's definitely a personal choice but a puppy can always make you smile and they're a great outlet for all that love you still hold for Sheba in your heart.
