here we have a service called Handibus. You just call them as you need them, like a taxi. They are cube vans that are fully equipped for wheelchairs, complete with hyrdaulic ramps. I have a quaddy friend who uses this service all the time for little more than bus fare and I believe he is reimbursed by his insurace monthly. He just calls them a couple of hours in advance of a trip he needs to take and they drive right up to his front door and deposit him cheerfully at his destination.
I would think a major centre such as Atlanta would have a service like this too, wouldn't you? If not, yet one MORE reason to have the convention in Canada next year, EH?
Howz about contacting the City of Atlanta (the civic folks, I mean) and seeing if they offer such a service? Just a thought...
