it is not so much the danger of the smoking in the house as smoking while on the oxygen.. I have known of people who smoked while on oxygen at the hospital and their nasal canulas ended up melting all over their nose and face...they kept the oxygen going and wore it while they smoked...
But I would assume that if he isn't smoking at the exact time that he is using the oxygen that it shouldn't matter... He could also keep the oxygen in a different room than he smokes..and/ or just make sure that the oxygen is not turned on
when he is smoking..
I really don't know...but I have been in the hospital on oxygen and wanted a cigarette and the respiratory people just took the oxygen off and layed it beside me (while it was still on) and I smoked and just put it back on when I was done with the cigarette...
