An alcoholic beverage will trigger a headache in approximately one-half hour after I begin drinking it, and it doesn't matter what the beverage is. They are all reliable triggers, and I don't notice any difference in intensity from one to the other.
About meals, I don't know, but I THINK that wine etc. used in cooking "boils down", and it's not a threat to me, although I think it is to others.
Annemarie is, I think, a fortunate exception, even a rarity in that she's not bothered by alcohol, whether in or out of a cycle. For me, it's a killer!
