If O2 works for you (and that is still a big IF of course) he is denying you a swift working, non addictive treatment that has no side effects.
Instead he gives you a nasal spray (hope it helps, but for some it is too weak to abort an attack).
You think O2 may be too expensive. Well Imitrex is for free, isn't it?
I don't know how big a fist you can make, but maybe you should go back and give the doc more info and tell him what's what.
Or change doctors.
