Hi, I was told I was not a candidate for the surgery (at the Mayo clinic) because approx. 5% of the time my headaches switch sides. They don't understand why, but if they do the surgery on the most affected side, the headaches will switch to the other. Pretty interesting! They can not do both sides, due to fact of losing your blink reflex etc. Mayo claims that many folks have good results with the "gamma knife" procedure. Like anything there are risks.
