Good grief! I can't believe your doctor isn't telling you everything. You should see my doctor. Before he (and another doctor I saw as my second opinion) concluded that I had cluster headaches, he thought I might have an anheurysm (spelling?). Although I was scared to death that my head might explode at any time, at least he was honest and direct with me.
About the surgery, I recall seeing a news segment recently about a surgery in Texas which involved the use of a small electrode. The electrode was placed on a nerve above the spinal cord and heated until the nerve was basically destroyed. Fascinating ... but I think I'll try to find an alternative procedure. If this is what your doctor is prescribing, please let me know. I would like to find out more ...
