I, too, periodically have strange, undefinable odors that I can't get rid of. Mine is a sort of acrid, gasoline-like odor, and no matter where I go or what I do, it's just sort of lingering there.
I don't know if it's a foreshadowing to another bout of headaches, BUT I often get sinus infections, and sometimes after taking antibiotics, the smell disappears.
I've never gotten a word out of a doctor about this; they just sort of roll their eyes and move on.
Sorry I can't be of more help. I guess I just wanted to reassure you that you're not alone on this one either, and hope it's not an indication of anything worse.
