The only cat that was ever "my cat" was Shamu. He was truely a Fine Orange Cat (FOC) and would lie under the piano bench when I would take the beast for a walk. Many times he would reach out and gently tap me on the foot as I stumbled by with the beast raging. When everything quieted down, he'd come out and do the cat rubbing thing and expect strokes. Kinda like "Well, I got you through another, now pet me.". How do they know?
