Think of breaking your arm and the pain that follows...
Think of taking a carving knife and slicing off the flesh on your finger to the bone...
Think of the pain from a car accident where your head goes through the window and you end up a bloody mess...
Think of pain from taking an ice pick and running it through your eye...
Think of the pain from a jump out of a window two stories up and hitting the ground head first...
A CH is worse.
In addition, feel the humiliation because you have a headache that makes you unable to speak for hours at a time...
Feel the shock of driving down a poorly suburban road and completely losing your vision in one eye...
Feel the disappointment of going to the best concert and not being able to hear from one ear...
Feel the anxiety about going to work every day and fearing your employer ask you to find another job (he can't fire you) because pain keeps you from functioning periodically...
Feel the embarassment of wearing the look on your face of someone whose spouse just died (with tears) - three times a month, every month forward...
Feel the hopelessness of depression that brings overwhelming grief and impairs your ability even to walk because your ankles (and wrists) are weak...
Feel the confusion and anger of seeing GPs, psychiatrists, neurologists (that have the same knowledge of your illness as small animal veterinarians) to find some medical solution, for most of your life...
Feel the loss of funds having spent large sums of money on holistic medicines and alternative therapy and drugs, to no avail...
Feel the reality of never really wanting to see any relatives because they constantly badger you with advice like: "If you stop eating carrots, your headaches will go away. I read it on a website!"
A CH sufferer, like me, lives with all of this and more.
