I am a chronic CH sufferer who uses prednisone for relief when I am forced to use too much cafergot and imitrex. Like the other reply, I hate the stuff but it does offer a brief respit. It completely wipes out my immune system while I am on it, though. My neurologist will not prescribe the prednisone without about 3 months between doses. The first three days I take 60 mg/day. The next three days I take 50 mg/day and so on dropping 10 mg per every three days until the taper finishes. This means for 18 days I take a total of 630 mg of prednisone.
