Hi David.....when my CH started 25 yrs ago, my family told me I'd never have kids, never hold a job down, never find a husband, etc, etc....I must admit, I thought my life was doomed. Don't forget this was in the days long before Imitrex, and the like. As each cycle ended, I used to think, good it's gone. I lost my job in aviation because of them, and began to fear that everyone had been right. Each time a cycle appeared, I started to face the beast, and tell it , it was not going to control my life. Between each cycle, (about a year) better medications became available, and science advanced. Today, I have four children, a very understanding husband, and finally found the meds that seem to work the best for me. As another post said, always have an Imitrex shot with you. Approx seven minutes, and you'll be back in the class & teaching. You'll probably feel like shit, but at least you will be able to carry on. Don't worry....the beast will never stop you being a great dad, husband or teacher...It will just test you once in a while. regards Judi
