For me, this is easy. Imitrex injections abort cluster headaches within 5-10 minutes. The only time they don't is when I have exceeded the recommended dosage, and then they bring on the dreaded "rebound" headache.
Cafergot had a limited success, but the longer I took it, the more unreliable it became.
Nothing else has worked. I have tried O2, Prednisone, Sansert, and Elavil.
Taking pain killers for cluster headaches is like pissing on a forest fire.
