I remember a time long ago when I didn't have appropriate meds and was in so much pain. I can still see myself "dancing" in the kitchen with a knife in hand convinced that I could just carve out the ice pick which was repeatedly, mercilessly jabbing into my temple and everything would be better. I knew the pain of stabbing myself would be less than the pain of the pick.
Thank God I didn't go through with it. I actually had a 5 year remission!! Yes, they're back now, but the meds are much better.
