I do not hide the fact that I have clusters. It's
nothing to be ashamed about. In fact, when I
have an episode, I Xerox a passage from Kudrow's
book on clusters that tells what it feels like
during an attack (he's a neurologist who also
has clusters) and give it to my supervisor. I then
tell my supervisor that I'm going on disability for
1 month. (Actually, with the Prednisone during this
episode, I've been feeling so good that I haven't
had to miss work.)
You mention your mother is seeing a GP? If that's
literally true, she needs to see a neurologist
familiar with clusters, rather than a GP.
