I was in the process of getting brushed off at three o'clock in the morning by an annoyed ER doctor when he just happened to check my blood pressure, which was through the roof because of the cluster pain. Seeing how high my blood pressure was changed his attitude immediately: he was afraid that I might be having a heart attack! Ever since, if I've found myself getting a negative response from an ER doctor, I've always demanded that my blood pressure be checked. I realize that getting your blood pressure checked in an ER can be next to no chance, but it's worth a try.
