Matt, you might also try a tapering dose of Prednisone, It is a steroid ( corticosteroid to be exact) which you typically take for a week to ten days. It is the only thing to break a cycle for me. Typical dosages start with 20 mg x 4/day for 3 or for days; followed by 20 mg x 3/day for 3 or four days; 20 mg/2/day etc until you take only 1 20 mg tablet for the last couple of days of treatment. This comes is a regulated dosage pack - called Medrol DosPak, which is 7 days of treatment. Side affects, for me, are edema (swelling of hands and feet) - lasts only a couple of days; stomach upset (always take with food); mood swings. All worth it though. Hope this helps..... Julie
