... but Spock might go on to logically wonder: if "... differences were seen both when the patients were studied while they had a headache and also in a headache-free state ...", why is the increased grey matter painful in cycle and not out of cycle. is the matter increase the cause of the pain? if not (as appears the case since in remission the additional matter is still present), then what (secondary?) attribute is the pain stimulus?
