Hello people. I signed the guestbook the other day and
have been lurking ever since getting great comfort from
the stories and postings. My wife says I am obsessed..
guess so! I have had CH since 1981 with a diagnosis just this past monday the 17th of May...I have an appt with a neuro on the 27th at the VA hospital. I have had the night time CH for years with occasional daytime poppers. Thought I had a tumor and all that too. Tried to drink it away. Hey, a three day blackout is three days without pain...not really funny....
So anyway I don't drink anymore (18 mos) and now I know I am not the only one with this pain. The VA ER doc gave me a Medrol pac and ordered home O2. The medrol is a decreasing dose of prednisolone. I got it monday, and had no CH monday night! Cured~! Not.
It was the only night without for four months, but I gotta say the O2 really helps so far. Sorry this is so long but I gotta vent and maybe someone can answer my questions...the VA people told me to go for disability since I had lost my job and the ER doc said this will last the rest of my life. (or not).
Has anyone gotten disability..or should I even want it?
I still have remissions of six months or so when I am a normal person. It's the other part when I stay awake for four or five days at a time that gets to my performance driving a truck or whatever I am doing at the time. And the daytime CH's cause me to disappear into the bathroom for a couple hours....anyway, just wondering and again sorry for the long post...thank you people and DJ this page is AWESOME!!! (c:
