After 24 years, I found botox and it worked
Dec 21st, 2015 at 9:38pm

Long time episodic turned chronic CH sufferer around yr 2000.  I had found this board years ago and forgot my login info so this is my first post in a long time. I think my username was MarkV in those days.  After years of trial and error with prednisone, topamax, verapamil, depacote, lithium, etc and many bad side affects. I finally received botox injections throughout the base of my neck and temples (occipital nerve pathways is my understanding), and for the first time I am pain free thru my worst cycle time of the year.  It took over a week to kick in.  I know everybody is different, but  I just wanted to share.  I googled botox and clusterheadaches today and found there is a bunch of new research studies out there.  Apparently treatment with botox is not new with migraine sufferers.  I hope this helps someone.  Best for the holidays -
