oxycodne 10 mg helps

I was diagnosed with ch 8 years ago.  Ive tried it all, no luck. finally i was prescribe oxy 10 mg.  It doesnt help if your in the middle of the ch, but really nothing does.  But if you could know the feeling before ch occurs, take the 10 mg . I notice it works and I am pain free but still have the aura "feeling" the dropping eye lid ect. no pain though.  Now for all you that know how painful they are id take the dropping eyelid over the pain anyday.  NOW the risk of opids are there  so knowing when to take and not to take help prevent addiction . but anyways I had recently started to get ch after 2 year remission. BAD makes me cry!  I had some 10 mg left over from 2 years ago guess what they work when you feel the aura before the headache.  Just dont over take the opids, dont take them if you have the 10 min headache save them for the 3 hour plus ch. You should know how your ch cycles work.  Everyone is different, but this is what helps the pain.  I cant wait for another 2 year remission

Ptrainer,

Potter makes a good point. Who gave you the diagnosis 8 years ago?  Have you been working with a Neurologist who specialises in Primary Headaches? Who prescribed the Oxycodon, as it's not a usual script for CH?

Peter.

Welcome to the board Trainer glad you found our site. Are you fortunate enough to be working with a headache specialist neurologist? Headache disorders are damned complicated. The majority of GP's and even most garden variety neuros just don't have the experience to accurately diagnose and treat CH. Typically, CH is so frequent that Opiates become problematic very quickly.

Great you found something that gives you a good quality of life, sounds like you're cognizant of the risks of opiates, something to ALWAYS keep an eye on! If you haven't availed yourself of a headache specialist neuro it might be worth a visit. Hoping you find pain free days soon.
