A little help here ! :)

Hello bothers hope you re great! I suffer from chronic custer headaches and i used to take verapamil. Unfortunately the last ferbruary i thought i am good as i didnt have any attack and i stopped it. Almost one month now i get my first attack and it was the strongest ever. Then i had almost daily an attack strongest than the previous and my neuro told me to start again the verapamil 240 mg daily. At the same time my gp he prescribed me imigran nasal spray and i was amazed by the results as in 5 minutes stopped the attack. Now i am waiting to see a specialist as unfortunately my neuro who used to see me he lives in other country but we are still in contact. When i started the verapamil i felt some strange symptoms and i am all the day with anxiety and hyperactivity and i feel i cant breath proper. My neuro told me its not the verapamil as 2 years i was under the same medication without these symptoms i currently have. But i feel i am on fire i cant relax and i have too much anxiety. Sometimes i have attacks and sometimes i feel the attack its coming but its never coming at the end of the day and i have only these symptoms . Its like i have an aura without pain. Its like i have a mania or something and i want to move all the time and i feel i am going to die as when i get these symptoms i feel i havent enough air and pins and needles in all over my body, flushing warm sensation.  I really worry about this. The doctors said its anxiety and sometimes cluster headaches are strange . I had 3 blood tests and cardio tests and they said are normal but i really suffer. I dont know maybe i am hypochondriac or something. My neuro told me maybe i need to start a medication with efexor . What do you think ? Is it the verapamil, my anxiety or the cluster headaches? Its all in my head or something is wrong? Lips Sealed

You really need to see a doctor in person about this as it could be CH related, it could be medication related or it could be something else too. Just because we have CH doesn't mean we don't get other medical issues too.

Hope you find out what it is soon.

I would go back to the prescribing doctor and explain your symptoms and timing very carefully.

Have you tried O2? It doesn't prevent the cycle or the attacks, but it does give my husband immediate relief. Perhaps if you used O2 for pain relief for a while you could figure out whether the anxiety symptoms are medication-related. Read the oxygen info page on this site for more info about how to use oxygen.

Wishing you peaceful pain relief.
