How much Topamax is too much?
May 10th, 2014 at 10:50pm

I am taking 300 mg at bed time 200 mg in the morning 50 mg around noon 50 mg and 50 mg at at 5 PM for a grand total of 600 mg a day and I am still getting hit with a kip 5 at about 8:30 am.

To go on I am also on 720 mg a day of verapamil, 900 mg a day of lithium and a modified version of the D3 regimen courtesy of Mr. Batch of which I seem to still be resistant to.

I am considering taking 300 mg at bed time and then another 300 mg in the morning to see if that stops the morning hit.

Thoughts?

Thanks for the input.

Eric.

Topamax doesn't have a good record when it comes
to treating CH's in some folk. Also known in the CH circle
as Dopey - max.

It is definetly dopey but not that bad.  I'm a little slow but haven't missed any work as of yet.

I just don't want to OD on the stuff.  So far it has worked.  No AM CH.  I took 300 mg at waking.  I do still also have a rather loud tinnitus I have been fighting as well however.

After 200mg is when the dopey and memory loss kicks in, so maybe talk with your doc about adjusting the verapamil to a higher dosage, and cutting back on the Topamax. I'm led to believe that 700mg is the safe limit.
