Supporter & researcher - Dr. Richard Andrew Sewell
Aug 1st, 2013 at 12:01am

Hi to all,

I'm here unfortunately, with bad news. One of our CH friends and researchers, Dr. Richard Andrew Sewell has died, following surgery, aged 41.

My Condolences to his family, friends, and all whom he helped. From reading his work, it seems he was one of the best kind of supporters a CHer could ever hope to have - open minded and willing to help us.

Dr Sewell conducted a lot of the Psilocybin work in CH, as many of you will know from personal experience. I know some of you knew and worked with him on these studies.

Perhaps he would best be remembered for his work:
(I am sure there is much more work contained in the Journals)

His contributions will be sadly missed.

I never knew Dr Sewell. I do work with a leading Headache specialist & researcher. Losing researchers with an active interest in our condition is difficult to take. (I search for words here, perhaps badly...apologies to all, I'm shocked..) I shudder to think what the world would be like for us with even fewer CH researchers.

These people are some of the most compassionate and understanding professionals outside of CHers themselves, when it comes to understanding and treating our condition.

I guess we will never know what Dr Sewell could have achieved for so many. 41 is so young. We've lost an inquiring mind and a caring supporter.
A tragic loss, indeed.

Ben.

Bad news, indeed. Sorry to hear about the loss of Dr. Sewell. We need more researchers in this area and his passing will be keenly felt for years to come, not to mention the huge personal loss to his family and friends. I never met the man, but I wish I had.

Ben, thank you for letting us know. This news is so sad and shocking. I knew him and was a patient in his LSA study years ago. What a loss this is! My deepest condolences to his family, friends and colleagues.
