Crisps - a trigger?
May 2nd, 2013 at 7:12pm

I am, hopefully, coming to the end of my current (particularly nasty) bout - completely out of season (usually July and November for me).

I have noticed that, this time round, crisps (called potato chips in the states) seem to trigger me.

THis surprises me.  I have avoided any that contain MSG or other flavour enhancers....and have nevr heard of crisps acting as a trigger.

A list of ingredients is thus : potatoes, sunflower oil (28%), rapeseed oil, sea salt.

Can't see anything in there that I should avoid....but is there?

Also, have any other clusterheads had problems with crisps?

That's a new one on me! But given some of the triggers I've seen, certainly now the weirdest! Hope you're coming to the end.

"Somebody had to say it" is usually a piss poor excuse to be mean.

Never had a problem here with chips (amazing how they are called different things in different places all using English as a language) other than them not being exactly the healthiest of foods, especially when using a prednisione taper.

I suspect any problems are due to the various chemicals added to give them the various flavours. Do you have a problem with all types, including the very plain ready salted ones?

These are the plain ready salted ones - I've been avoiding flavoured ones.

I listed the ingredients in the first post...

There are lots of people reporting links between rapeseed oil and headaches:
