Much confusion here on the difference between "cause" and "trigger". The CAUSE of Cluster appears to be a small part of our brain, the hypothalamus. Unless it is not working properly, we can't get Cluster.

For a large % of Cluster folks, IF you have a defective hypothalamus AND you drink alcohol, it may trigger an attack sometimes.

Alcohol is not the CAUSE of Cluster but it can allow an attack to develop. IF the hypothalmus was not defective, then alcohol could not trigger a Cluster.l

Confusion, too, because there are many kinds of alcohol. It's the kind we drink which is the largest source of attacks. So, if using sorbitol has not lead to an attack, then you don't have a problem. (Being "scared" is the bigger problem. It would be useful to learn how to block such reactions.)

Only Oxygen and LSA works for me, nothing else that I have tried with my neuro.

and yes trigger not cause, but I meant cause of a triggered attack.

Sorbitol is a sugar alcohol, not the kind you drink but a hydrogenated form of carbohydrate.  It could be a trigger, but I believe it's on a person by person basis (i.e. some people are triggered by certain smells, foods, and some are not).
