Music has always been a huge part of my life. It  helps with dealing with everything (emotionaly/phisically) when in a cycle different songs for different days. I like it loud as possible, actually helps me out it seems. Now here comes the looney part- I  put my cluster side of my head on the speaker with some booming bass, beats and the vibration and beat almost seem to help when i am being hit or with the shadow for sure.(Currrent favorite for this method is DJ Skrillex- Bangarang). The vibration seems to break it up a bit although prob doing some hearing damage. Maybe I am crazy or maybe its the distraction, kinda like tapping your clusterside with the telephone as described on the homepage. My wife found me with my head against the speaker the other day and asked if I had a headache what I was doing. I responded bounching out the shadow she said "well turn it down cuz its giving me a headache".  Smiley Seeing if I am alone in this crazy theory at all.
Also what songs have people used to help their emotional state durring their cycles. Some of my favorites over the years have been: Green Day- Give me novicane, Matchbox 20- Unwell. Frank Black- Headache. The Cure-Lullabye, Blind Melon- Walk  Tool-46&2, etc.  Feel free to listen to any of these songs on youtube and see how much they relate to you. I could make a list a mile long but would love to hear what other clusterheads like when they are hurting. Wishing all PFDN

Well, bribri, your taste in music aside, for me this would be a surefire means of promoting a shadow to the ranks of a true cluster major. Headbanging is generally viewed as a symptom, not an abortive. But hey, who knows? If it works for you and all that. blessings. lance

In the past I experimented with different kinds of music, as well as brainwave manipulation software. There was SOME effect to certain rhythms and patterns, but it was very mild.

Loud Sound has never affect my CHs (thank God since I have had 3 kids in my life for 12 years out of the 19 years with CH) And do not head bang like I am at a Metalica concert -my head hurts enough. It is the vibration off the wood of the speaker onto my cluster sides skull that feels good.  And you know what they say:
"if its too loud then your too old!"

I purchased some skull candy headphones designed to pump out serious bass, if those were left on my head with music playing during an attack, the attacks were shorter with oxygen than the attacks without music with oxygen.
Probably just a random unrelated event, but the vibrations did feel soothing.
