help!
Jun 25th, 2012 at 4:14am

Hi! Im nichelle, 19 years old. I am afraid that i have cluster headache, but then i am not sure because it seldom awakes me at night. it occurs during afternoon. Although, it is difficult to sleep with it, i try to soothe myself by listening to music and then sleepiness comes. i don't want to go to the doctor yet, because when i went there, they told me it was migraine. i felt that i am a weakling because i cannot stand the pain, when my friends still goes to school without any medication.

it started when i was 15. and it occurs once a year. around 2 weeks or so. But last year, there was no pain. it only occur this june 5, and since then, the pain happened almost everyday at around afternoon or morning .

please, i just need to see if this signs are possible for having cluster headache, even though it seldom happened at night.
thank you!

Yes, it is entirely possible to have CHs and yet not have them manifest at night. While REM sleep hits are common they are by no means universal. Search for a good headache specialist who can help you sort out what is going on. blessings. lance

I rarely get them at night - except for this cycle, where they hit me several nights in a row during the peak.

Key sign to me is pain behind the eye, runny nose, one blood shot eye and regular pain killers (OTC or narcotic) don't even touch the pain.  Oh - also, they come on and go away very quickly.  I have had enough attacks I can tell when one is coming - but until I figured out the signs, it seemed like it came out of the blue.

For your sake - I hope it is not CH's.  Good luck
