My pharmacist ordered viles of imitrex...

If your Doc. or pharmacist is telling you, you can only get the imitrex in the injector pins, THEY'RE WRONG!!! You can (somehow) have either your doc of pharmacy get the sumatriptan in viles where you can use as much or as little as you need!!! Just thought I'd share this!!! Cheesy

You're right. I recently had my pharmacist call my neuro and on the refill ordered the vials and syringes. I have both available to me. I find the autoinjector is less obvious when I am out in public than pulling out a vial and syringe and shooting into my leg. So, the syringe at home, and the autoinjector when away from home. Take care, and God bless. lance

I have a question for the board. I just went to see a new doctor about my headaches. I'm currently on sumatriptan pills but she just changed me to midrin? Is anyone on this pill and have suggestions for me. Not only do I suffer from clusterhead aches but I also have very bad allergies and have sinus headaches. So pretty much have headaches all day everyday and on top of that when my clusters hit.  Shocked
... I haven't pin pointed my out breaks, but I know that when I have more than 2 adult beverages on the weekend I wake up the next morning with massive pain.
advice from anyone??

Midrin is a migrain med, I tried it in the early 80's and it had no effect at all on my clusters.

Alcohol, while not a universal trigger, is a common trigger among CH'ers. Best to avoid completely until you get a clearer picture of what you're dealing with. You should work at getting a referral to a headache specialist neurologist. There are literally hundreds of headache types, your GP gets about 4 hours of training in doctor school covering all of those headache types. Your garden variety neuro doesn't get much more  then that. It sounds like you may be dealing with more then one type of headache, making it critical you get to a secialist to get them sorted out and get on an effective treatment regimen.

Wishing you luck and speed on that!

Joe

Midrin did not work for me. I am also allergic to tylenol but we didn't know it at the time. I do not know if I was in a cluster cycle or just having migraines. I had just been in a bad car wreck where I hit my head four times on the windshield and flipped the car over.

My pharmacy switched from StatDose to vials on request without having to call my Neuro.  Now when I get refills they automatically order vials  Cool
