No longer but my Dad began in the 1930s. It's a lot of fun though and I'm glad you're finding some here.

I've been an operator since October of 1997.  made Extra in April of 2000.  Operated DX for years and contested.  Got involved with CW and then traffic handling.

Haven't so much as looked at my radio in about 5 years.

N0KGQ, haven't touched the radio much in recent years, too much of that at work. Licensed since about 1989...

I was back in the 80's, my handle was Boots.  Haven't touched it since.

Sandy,
I think you mean that you were a CB operator.  Ham radio operators dont' have *handles*.

Hey, what the heck to I know - it was a radio thingy.  This was back in the 70's and I had this radio thingy in my car and my handle was "boots", and I talked to all the truckers.

For everyone's info, not that I'm bragging or anything
I was 5'8" tall, wore a size 6 after having two children, and I was hot!  Those truckers, sitting in their high cabs, could see into my car.  I then could hear comments like "check out that blue station wagon passing you" a trucker would say to another trucker over the CB.  So I would pipe in with something like "thanks, good buddy".

Again, not that I'm bragging or anything  Cool
