Blue tinted glasses
May 19th, 2011 at 12:50am

A close friend of mine and someone very interested in my clusters, (a brilliant nurse working on her phd, or quite possibly phds) was having a conversation with her optician the other day about her red tinted glasses, and the conversation turned to how blue tinted glasses 'miraculously cures people plagued with cluster headaches', or so he said.

News to me I thought. Anyone else?

And here I've been going through life looking at the world through rose colored glasses *smacks forehead*.  Cheesy

The blue tinted glasses thing is new to me.  Cool

CH according to Bejeeber:

Strictly relying on doctors for CH treatment is often a prescription that will keep you in a whole lot of PAIN. Doctors are WAY behind in many respects, and they are usually completely unaware of the benefits of high flow 100% O2.

There are lots of effective treatments documented at this site. Take matters into your own hands, learn as much as you can here and at clusterbusters.com, put it into practice, then tell this CH beast Jeebs said hello right before you bash him so hard with a swift uppercut knockout punch that his stupid horns go flinging right off.

Never heard of such a thing.

However, I don't believe Johnny Depp suffers from cluster headaches. Maybe it's too much to be just a coincidence:

And I'm pretty sure Elton John doesn't either:

You decide.

Asked of my medical history by a whiz of a urologist, I said I have cluster headaches.  He paused, unfamiliar, and then recovered with a chuckle, "Clusters, migraine, what's the difference."

I thought, well, that's why you're a urologist.

Twisting open my bottle of Snapple, under the cap it said:  The number sign # is called an octothorpe.  And that was news to me.

Ummm...Renee? I suppose the short answer is "no, but I have serious doubts about any miracle cure" but the more gentle answer might be, "give 'em a try and let us know what you think." Blessings. lance

Too much bright sunshine is a trigger for some, and when I'm getting hit I don't like bright sun. So shades may be a mild form of a prevent for people that find bright sun to be a trigger. I'd be curious to hear what she bases the idea on. She sounds highly educated and I have learned not to "poo-poo" new ideas too quickly. Who'd have thought oxygen, lsd, mushrooms, vitamin D, or energy drinks would have the positive affect on us they do! Wink

Renee, anytime you hear the words "Miraculous cure"  RUN!   do not pass go and don't collect $200.

At least blue-tinted glasses can't hurt you like some of the other miraculous cures we've heard about on this site.

I am very sensitive to light and find myself unable to go without sunglasses even on dreary days.  A bright sunny day will instantly cause my right eye to droop and water.  The worst for me is riding in a car when the sun is flickering from behind the trees as I pass.   So.... sunglasses are helpful in my fight with CH.  I can't say that I've ever noticed that the color made a difference.

Seems like it would be uncomfortable to sleep with sunglasses on......

Which is why I recommend eyelid replacement therapy.

Or in a pinch we could wear blue tinted contact lenses to bed.
