Coming back home
Nov 2nd, 2010 at 6:05am

Hello, everybody!
Some of the older 'heads may remember me as "Hal." Unfortunately, the site also remembers me as Hal, but my old ISP no longer exists. So, I had to become Hal1 in order to come back. Of course, though I had to re-register as Hal1, I'm still plain Hal for all other purposes.
It's been about seventeen years since I was last an active participant, thanks to this site. That is to say, seventeen years ago, I lucked into this site in between bouts of dancing with The Demon - 11:30pm to 4:55am; you gotta hand it to him: he certainly knows how to tell time! Here, someone eventually suggested to me that I might want to try doubling my daily hit of Verapamil, which I was already taking for hypertension.
IT WORKED!!!
And, I'm embarrassed to say, I "took the money and ran," so to speak, dropping out of active participation, once that I'd found relief from my own forty years of suffering.
Needless to say, I've always intended to come back "home," if only to show my gratitude and to offer hope to others who haven't yet found their own Demon-slaying silver bullet.
But, as is so often the case, I just didn't get a round tuit. They were always of some other shape. Wink In any case, now I'm back.
And the news is still good. I'm still using Verapamil and The Demon has still been kept at bay. Of course, nothing is perfect. I still have shadows. I notice that all of my molars and premolars on the right side of my facesuddenly start to ache and the pain travels up the right side of my face till it reaches my eye and I end up with one hell of a headache covering the whole right side of my head.
But that's more than good enough for government work! "One hell of a headache" is not anywhere near the indescribable agony of a cluster that only those of us who've been there can know, relate to, and understand.
God bless Verapami!
-Hal

I'm obviously new to the site, Hal, but good to have you back. And spreading the good news that there is life with clusters. I, too, am on verapamil (400mgs) and am finding success. Stick around and give encouragement. Blessings! lance

Welcome back Hal! Memories of the old fashioned streaming messages board huh? DJ has fancied things up a bit around here. Wink

The biggest "new" news around here is oxygen. When you get a second, read the oxygen tab on the left. It's cheap, no side effects, and fast! My abort times run 6-8 minutes with it. Works on shadows too. Worth reading up on.

Glad you're back, check out undr meetings and gatherings header, the January meet and greet is in Saint Louis, would be fun to meet some of the gang in person. Glad Verap still taming the beast for you.

"Somebody had to say it" is usually a piss poor excuse to be mean.
