Hello,

I'm 70, male, and have had cluster headaches for 3 years.  Presently I'm able to stop the headaches in their tracks (2 on your pain scale) by breathing pure oxygen for about one minute.  My headaches are the variety that respond to indomethacin.  The O2 gives the indomethacin time to work.

Prior to learning about the O2 treatment my neurologist had tried a variety of medications.  From these, I got all of the side effects and no benefit whatever; indomethacin being the sole exception in that it would limit me to about 20 minutes of the most excruciating pain imaginable.

Thank you for establishing this fine message board and filling the site with valuable information.

Bill

"Brewcrew" you write?  Oh how I miss beer.  Unfortunately one glass is all it takes to trigger my CHs.

Thanks for Favre.

I miss it too, Bill. And my name is Bill, too, Bill. And you're welcome for Favre.

Yup - there's Brew (above), myself (the supporter) and our son pops in occasionally, Jr. Brew.  We're from brewcity (Milwaukee) and Brew used to make his own beer - before the beast made it known he doesn't care for beer either. . . .

Welcome! Glad to hear that indomethacin and o2 work for you. I tried indocin and it didn't do anything for me. Recently I started o2 and it has been a Godsend. What flow rate are you using to get 1 minute abort times? Mine take 20 mins at 15lpm!

My flow rate is set to 10 lpm.  I start immediately when I sense one coming on.  I also take a 25mg indomethicin capsule at the same time.
