DHE regimen
Sep 2nd, 2010 at 7:44pm

I was told a few years ago by an ER MD that there is a protocol where an inpatient gets IV DHE every 6 hours for ( I think) 3 days.

Anyone heard of this? Any literature to support it?

Thanx much!

Yes. About two years ago I was hospitalized with a non-stop for 8 hours and still tickin' KIP 10. That was what my neuro used to kill the hit and interrupt the cycle. They came back, tho. Blessings. lance

I've been through it twice. 1mg IV DHE-45 (verrrrrryyy slow push - 10 min or so, else it burns like a MF) along with reglan so I didn't puke. Once every 8 hours, either 9 or 10 doses. They put me on the cardiac floor because they monitor your heart the whole time. Powerful vasoconstrictor.

Works great while you're on it. Both times they returned within 36 hours. With a vengeance.
