Aug 22nd, 2010 at 12:15am

i just used my cutting torch to abort a migraine. seems to work pretty good. i used the cutting valve for a demand valve. turned up the regulator up to 40. didnt need the reclaimer bag. no mask strapped to my face. the tip has a metallic taste though but i think i can fix that

Are you sure it was O2? Yeah, I know you're sure, and I agree the idea of using a cutting torch to stop a head pain sounds provocative. But I didn't think O2 worked on primarily migraine headaches? It hasn't helped my wife who suffers from them. I've let her snort on the tank from time to time and to no good effect. Just curious. lance

There's been at least one fairly recent study that O2 is effective for most migraines too (check 2008+ Pubmed).

My guess is that the same gene current theory holds responsible for those with CH who don't respond to O2 & other treatments also prevents it from helping with migraine.

Good to hear it worked for you !!

Re using 02 for migranes, my mother has a friend who suffers from migranes.  Anyway she was telling him that I use 02 for my CH and he decided to give it a try.  Well apparently it works... he is a school principle and I'm told that now when he gets a migrane he alerts the school nurse who sets him up with 02.
